LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell women's lacrosse team (0-4) continues its four-game homestand this week, facing off against Holy Cross on Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 3 p.m. and Iona on Saturday, March 2 at 1 p.m.
Last Time Out
The River Hawks nearly completed the comeback against Colgate on Saturday, but eventually fell 12-9, despite outscoring the Raiders 5-1 in the closing minutes.Â
Paige MacEachern (Lynnfield, Mass.) ended with two goals and two assists, while
Cameron McKelvin (Westminster, Md.) had a hat trick as the River Hawks outshot the Raiders 31-26.
Hana Caster (North Attleboro, Mass.) had a game-high six draw controls and also had three caused turnovers in the game.

Scouting Holy Cross
Holy Cross holds a 1-2 record, having beaten Central Connecticut 20-3, and dropped games to Fairfield, 13-9, and Monmouth, 10-8. Keely Connors has controlled the Crusaders' attack with 11 goals on the season and a team-high 12 points so far. Goalkeeper Sophie Ochs holds a 9.80 GAA and .490 save percentage.

This will be the first matchup between UMass Lowell and Holy Cross.
Scouting Iona
The Gaels are seeking their first win as they head to Wicked Blue Field, having dropped their first five games of the season against Army, Wagner, Drexel, Lafayette and Brown. Leah Marshall and Sara Stewart lead the way with six goals apiece, while Shannon McCaffrey has played in every game at goalkeeper, earning a 15.97 GAA and .434 save percentage.
Series History
UMass Lowell owns a 1-2 record against Iona, having most recently dropped a 7-6 overtime heartbreaker to the Gaels in 2018. McKelvin and
Rebecca Idson (East Atlantic Beach, N.Y.) each scored a goal, while Finelli had a two-assist game, but Iona would win it with 23 seconds remaining in overtime to steal the victory away from the River Hawks.

Goals on Goals
The River Hawks scored 34 goals in the first three games of 2019, which was the most goals they've scored through the first three games of the season in program history. They now have 43 on the season (10.75 per game). Ten different River Hawks have scored goals this season, while 12 have tallied at least one point.
M&M
MacEachern and McKelvin lead the team in goals so far this season. McKelvin had five goals at Fresno State, just one short of the single-game record at UMass Lowell, held byÂ
Hana Caster (North Attleboro, Mass.) andÂ
Idson. Against Boston University a week later, MacEachern had six goals, joining Idson and Caster to tie the single-game record. She surpassed her 2018 goal total in just the first three games in 2019 and now has 12 goals on the season. McKelvin has scored 10 goals on just 13 shots for a team-high .769 shot percentage. Both McKelvin and MacEachern are now on the top-10 all-time goals list at UMass Lowell.
Solo Scoring
UMass Lowell has scored 17 unassisted goals this season, six of those coming from MacEachern.
Under Pressure
The River Hawks had a season-high 11 caused turnovers at Boston University, three of them fromÂ
Gabby Torain (Glen Burnie, Md.). Torain now has seven caused turnovers on the season, exceeding her total from last year.
Milestone Watch
Kelly Moran (Exeter, N.H.) tallied four draw controls against Colgate, tallying her 100
th career draw control in the process. She is already at the top of the record books in all-time draw controls with 102. At Boston University, Finelli hit the 100-goal mark and is now second all-time in scoring with 102 points, needing just eight more to reach first place.
A New Era in Goal
Renee Gonzalez (Long Valley, N.J.) is holding down the fort at goalkeeper this season, having played every minute so far, with a 14.50 GAA and .318 save percentage.
Strength in Seniors
The River Hawks boast a veteran squad with 10 seniors, a class that combined for 113 points in 2018.
