LOWELL, Mass. – For the first time this season, the UMass Lowell women's lacrosse team will play at home, welcoming Colgate to Wicked Blue Field at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23.

Last Time Out
The River Hawks played tough against Boston University last weekend, but dropped a 17-12 decision to the Terriers. Paige MacEachern (Lynnfield, Mass.) tied a program record for goals in a game with six, while Cameron McKelvin (Westminster, Md.) chipped in a goal and four assists. With her first goal of the game, Kendyl Finelli (Southborough, Mass.) notched her 100th career point. Olivia Massena (Cicero, N.Y.) earned her first career assist in the game, while Kristina Keith (East Kingston, N.H.) had her first assist of the season. Renee Gonzalez (Long Valley, N.J.) had a season-high nine saves with a .346 save percentage.

Scouting Colgate
The Raiders are 1-1 on the season, having dropped their opening game to Vermont (12-9) and taken down Binghamton (7-6). Danielle Van Calcar leads the way with four goals, while Noelle Patterson has two goals and two assists on the year. Junior goalkeeper Samantha Croston holds a 9.00 GAA and .379 save percentage.

Series History
The River Hawks and Raiders first faced off in 2018, with Colgate inching out a 12-9 win. Jane Dudley (Duxbury, Mass.) led the way with two goals and two assists for the River Hawks, while Finelli tallied a goal and two assists, and Keith had two goals.

Goals on Goals
The River Hawks have scored 34 goals so far in 2019, which is the most goals they've scored through the first three games of the season in program history.

M&M
McKelvin had five goals at Fresno State, just one short of the single-game record at UMass Lowell, held by Hana Caster (North Attleboro, Mass.) and Rebecca Idson (East Atlantic Beach, N.Y.). Against Boston University a week later, MacEachern had six goals, joining Idson and Caster to tie the single-game record. Now with 10 goals on the season, MacEachern has already surpassed her 2018 goal total in just three games in 2019. Both McKelvin and MacEachern are now on the top-10 all-time goals list at UMass Lowell.

Under Pressure
The River Hawks had a season-high 11 caused turnovers at Boston University, three of them from Gabby Torain (Glen Burnie, Md.). Torain now has six caused turnovers on the season, matching her total from last year.

Milestone Watch
At Boston University, Finelli hit the 100-goal mark. Kelly Moran (Newfields, N.H.) is just two draw controls away from 100 and is already at the top of the record books in all-time draw controls with 98. Finelli is second all-time in scoring with 101 points, needing just nine more to reach first place.

A New Era in Goal
Renee Gonzalez is holding down the fort at goalkeeper this season, having played every minute so far, with a 12.97 GAA and .360 save percentage.

Strength in Seniors
The River Hawks boast a veteran squad with 10 seniors, a class that combined for 113 points in 2018.

Fresh Faces
UMass Lowell welcomes seven freshmen this season — Olivia Massena (Cicero, N.Y.), Lauren Hopsicker (Burnt Hills, N.Y.), Meredith Woo (Rochester, N.Y.), Lauren Katayama (Park Ridge, Ill.), Samantha Blair (West Islip, N.Y.), Julia Williams (Syracuse, N.Y.) and Ava Hoog (Ipswich, Mass.). Massena, Hopsicker, Woo and Blair have all seen action so far this season.

Leading the Way
Seniors Dudley, Keith, Gonzalez and Megan Albertsen (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) are serving as captains this season.
