BOSTON, Mass. – UMass Lowell field hockey freshman back Sofie Knook (Amsterdam, Netherlands) has been named America East Rookie of the Week for the third time this season, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
 
Knook helped lead the River Hawks to a pair of wins last week. The team improved to 7-7 overall in 2019 and 1-2 in America East action with two goals and one assist from the standout freshman.
 
In the squad's first game of the week at conference foe New Hampshire on October 18, Knook scored the game-tying goal with less than 30 seconds to go in regulation to force overtime and allow UMass Lowell to go onto win in a sudden-victory shootout.
 
Later in the weekend, Knook logged a goal and her first career assist, as the River Hawks defeated Holy Cross, 2-1, on Oct. 20.
 
Knook leads the team with seven goals and one assist for 15 points so far in 2019.
