LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell women's cross country team takes its first step toward the future Saturday as the River Hawks travel to St. Albans, Vermont for a season opering tri-meet against America East rivals Vermont and Albany.

The season opener will play out on the same course that hosted the America East Championships almost a year ago, Hard'Ack Recreation Area in St. Albans.  UMass Lowell finished second at the conference championships, their best ever showing.
