LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell field hockey team is ready to hit the turf in 2018. Veteran Head Coach Shannon Hlebichuk says her squad has come in more prepared than ever at the Division I level and everyone is excited to get the season underway on Friday, August 24, when the River Hawks host Bryant at 1 p.m. as part of the inaugural River Hawk Classic.
 
"I think we're coming in this year at a very different place than we have in the past because we have such a large, experienced group returning and our newcomers have all already played at a very high level," explained Hlebichuk. Practices have been awesome, they've been high-intensity, high-tempo, so if what we've been doing in these first few days is any indication of what the year is going to look like, it's going to be a great year."
