LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell women's lacrosse team (0-3) continues its road swing at Iona (3-2) on Thursday before coming back home to welcome Wagner (2-2) on Sunday.

A WIN WOULD...
A win on Wednesday would give the River Hawks their first win of the season and the squad's second win over Iona. If the squad can pull off the victory on the road, it will also be the program's first winning record over an opponent.

LAST TIME OUT
UMass Lowell came back from a 7-3 halftime deficit to tie the game at nine all with 6:55 remaining in regulation at Colgate, but was unable to come away with the victory, falling 12-9 in the squad's first road game of the season. Senior keeper Courtney Barrett (South Burlington, Vt.) had a massive day in net, stopping a season-high 14 shots for a .540 save percentage and collected eight ground balls and five caused turnovers. Junior attacker Jane Dudley (Duxbury, Mass.) led the way offensively with two goals and two assists for four points.

LEADING THE FLOCK
Kendyl Finelli (Southborough, Mass.) continues to lead the River Hawks with 11 points from four goals and seven assists. Taylor Sokol (Hopkinton, Mass.) has tallied seven goals and Jane Dudley (Duxbury, Mass.) has scored four times while assisting on three others to give them each seven points. In total, nine different River Hawks have tallied at least one point on the season.

Renee Gonzalez (Long Valley, N.J.) and Barrett have each split the season between the posts recording 90 minutes apiece. Barrett carries an 11.33 goals-against average with 19 saves and a .528 save percentage, while Gonzalez carries a 12.00 goals-against average with 18 saves and a .500 save percentage.

SCOUTING IONA
The Gaels hold a 3-2 record on the season after coming off a 9-6 loss to Army West Point. Pamela Giordano has 15 goals on the season to lead the team offensively. Jenna Tolzmann and Katelyn Noschese are also double digit scorers for Iona with 11 and 10, respectively. Shannon McCaffrey has played every minute between the posts this season. The keeper carries a 9.00 goals-against average with 47 saves on a .511 save percentage.

SERIES HISTORY
The young series is tied at a game apiece. Iona won the first matchup, 6-12, in the River Hawks inaugural season, but UMass Lowell bested the Gaels last season, 11-6, to pick up their first win of the season.

SCOUTING WAGNER
The Seahawks currently have a 2-2 record, but host Stetson on Wednesday before they make the trek to Lowell. Lauren Ednie leads the team in goals with 10, while Ally Alliegro and Anna Belle Reilly each have 11 points to lead the team offensively. In net, Lucy Darlington carries a 10.33 goals-against average with 31 saves and a .500 save percentage.

SERIES HISTORY
This is the first matchup between the two schools in the sport of women's lacrosse. The Mill City squad is a combined 3-4 against institutions from the Northeast Conference.

BARRETT CLOSES IN ON MILESTONE
Barrett stopped a season-high 14 shots in the squad's loss at Colgate and has now stopped 19 shots on the season. The four-year captain between the posts now sits at 498 career saves to move her within two saves of becoming the first goalie in the program's young history to amass 500 saves in a career.

FINELLI CONTINUES STELLAR START
After starting the season with back-to-back four point performances in the first two games of the season, Finelli tallied three points at Colgate. The midfielder now has 11 points though three games, and needs just 13 more points to match her output from a season ago. The junior is on pace to tally a program record 61 points this season, which would be 27 more than the current program record of 34 held by fellow teammate Jane Dudley after her breakout year last season.

SCORING DEPTH
Five different players got in on the scoring action in the season opener: Kednyl Finelli led the way with four points from two goals and two assists, followed by Taylor Sokol (3g), Austin Trasatti (2g, 1a), Hana Caster (2g, 1a), and Jane Dudley (1g, 1a). Rebecca Idson added to the list after tallying the opening goal against California. Kristina Keith registered her first two goals of the season at Colgate to give the River Hawks seven different players who have scored a goal this season.

SCORING STREAK
With Dudley's four points at Colgate, the junior attacker now has an eight-game point streak that dates back to last season when she tallied an assist against Harvard (4.11.17).
