LOWELL, Mass. --
The UMass Lowell women's lacrosse team (2-4, 0-0 AE) travels to face Bryant on Wednesday before returning home to welcome top-ranked Stony Brook on Saturday.

A WIN WOULD...
A win against the Bulldogs would give UMass Lowell its third win of the season and third in a row. It would also give the Mill City squad a .500 record against Bryant and move the squad to 6-4 all-time against institutions from the NEC. A win would be the third straight win over a NEC opponent this season.

LAST TIME OUT
UMass Lowell set a new program record for goals in a game in their 18-9 win over Sacred Heart (3.17). Eight different River Hawks tallied a goal with three - Taylor Sokol (Hopkinton, Mass.), Kaylan DiModugno (Deer Park, N.Y.) and Kristina Keith (East Kingston, N.H.) - tallying four goals in the win. Courtney Barrett (South Burlington, Vt.) and Renee Gonzalez (Long Valley, N.J.) split the matchup to combine to stop six shots in the win.

LEADING THE FLOCK
Kednyl Finelli (Southborough, Mass.) remains the leader on offense for the River Hawks with 21 points from 13 assists and eight goals on the season, while Sokol leads the squad with 14 goals. In total, 11 different players have scored a goal this season, eclipsing last season's mark of nine.

Barrett has been solid between the posts accumulating 35 saves on the year for a .500 save percentage and an 8.92 goals-against average. The four-year captain is ranked 12th nationally in GAA, 17th in save percentage and 10th in ground balls per game with 3.8 per contest.

SCOUTING BRYANT (3-3)
The Bulldogs halted a three-game skid to pull back to .500 (3-3) on the season after defeating Niagara (3.17) 18-8 on the road. Jess DeMeo leads Bryant in goals with 27 to go along with her four assists (31 pts). Caitlin Breglia also has tallied 31 points from a more evenly distributed 19 goals and 12 assists. Catlin Brown is the only other Bulldog to have tallied double-digit points with 15 (10g, 5a). In total, 14 different players have tallied a goal. Samantha Santeramo leads the way in net for Bryant, logging 330 minutes and has allowed 55 goals on the season and stopped 56 shots for a .505 save percentage and a 10.00 goals-against average.

SERIES HISTORY
Bryant and UMass Lowell have squared off every year since the program's inaugural season with the Bulldogs being successful in the first two attempts. The River Hawks were victorious in overtime, 10-9, last season at Wicked Blue for its first win in the series.

SCOUTING STONY BROOK (7-0, 0-0 AE)
The Seawolves are coming off a 13-8 win over 13th-ranked Towson (3.17) to remain undefeated on the season. The win marked the fifth ranked team Stony Brook has defeated this season. The twin duo of Kylie and Taryn Ohlmiller pace the Seawolves offensively with 45 points (31g, 14a) and 39 points (16g, 23a), respectively. Courtney Murphy follows with 38 points from 26 goals and 12 assists. In total, 12 different players have tallied a goal this season. Anna Tesoriero has been a force between the posts this season having played all but a little over six minutes on the season. The keeper has allowed 50 goals on the season and stopped 50 shots for a .500 save percentage and a 7.25 goals-against average.

SERIES HISTORY
Stony Brook leads the all-time series against UMass Lowell coming out victorious in each of the last four years the two have played.

BARRETT REACHES MILESTONE, EYES A SECOND
Barrett stopped seven shots in the loss at Iona (3.8). Although the squad was unable to come away with its first win of the season, the four-year captain captured a different win between the posts. The South Burlington, Vt. native became the first player in program history to reach at least 500 saves in a career. She now sits 86 away from 600 and would need to average 7.8 saves per game over the final 11 contests to reach the milestone.

LOOKING NATIONALLY
In the national rankings, UMass Lowell's defense has made a splash with 11.5 caused turnovers per game and currently sits tied for ninth in the nation. Goalkeeper Courtney Barrett is ranked 12th nationally in goals-against average with 8.92, 17th in save percentage at .500, and is 10th in ground balls per game with 3.8 per contest.

HATCH DOMINATES ON THE DRAW
One game after teammate Kelly Moran tied the program record for draw controls in a game with six, Erin Hatch came out victorious seven times on the draw to set a new program record. The seven draw controls also catapulted her into the team lead with 12.

HAT TRICK PERFORMANCES
One game after Kendyl Finelli and Hana Caster teamed up against Wagner (3.11) with each of them scoring a hat trick, Taylor Sokol, Kristina Keith and Kaylan DiModugno each tallied a hat trick in the win over Sacred Heart (3.17). It marked the eighth time in program history that two or more River Hawks have scored hat tricks in the same game, with UMass Lowell holding a slight 5-3 edge in those contests.

FINELLI'S STELLAR START
Kendyl Finelli has tallied 21 points through the first six games of the season. The midfielder now needs just three more points to match her output from a season ago. The Southborough, Mass. native is on pace to tally a program record 60 points this season, which would be 26 more points than the current program record of 34 held by fellow teammate Jane Dudley after last season's breakout year.

SCORING DEPTH
Paige MacEachern (Lynnfield, Mass.) scored in the win over Sacred Heart (3.17) to extend the list of River Hawks to have scored a goal this season to 11, which is two more than the final total of last season.

REACHING DOUBLE DIGITS
The River Hawks have scored at least 10 goals in 12 games since 2015, going 9-3 in those games.

DEFENSE IS THE BEST OFFENSE
Six times in the opener against Boston University, the River Hawks were able to turn caused turnovers or ground balls directly into goals for the Mill City Squad. The team broke that season high with eight instances in its win over Sacred Heart, In total, through the first five games, the River Hawks have scored directly off a caused turnover or ground ball pickup 27 accounting for roughly 46-percent of their goals scored this season..

WILL YOU ACCEPT THIS ROSE?
Freshman Hannah Rose (Framingham, Mass.) was tabbed the America East Rookie of the Week (3.12) for her efforts in leading the squad to a 1-1 week. Rose led all River Hawk rookies with three caused turnovers, while also picking up three ground balls on the defensive end of the field. The midfielder helped the squad pick up its first win of the season against Wagner on Sunday afternoon after tallying two ground balls and a caused turnover.
