LOWELL, Mass. --
The UMass Lowell women's lacrosse team (1-4) hosts Sacred Heart (0-6) on Saturday at Wicked Blue Field in their lone game of the week.

A WIN WOULD...
A win against the Pioneers would give the River Hawks their second win of the season and move the squad's record to 2-2 against the visitors. A win would give the home squad their first winning record against any conference at 5-4 against the Northeast Conference. Finally, a win would give the River Hawks 10 wins in the program's young history.

LAST TIME OUT
UMass Lowell were 11-9 victors over Wagner (3.11). Hana Caster (North Attleboro, Mass.) and Kendyl Finelli (Southborough, Mass.) both scored hat tricks to help lead the squad to its first victory of the year. Courtney Barrett (South Burlington, vt.) stopped five shots in the winning effort.

LEADING THE FLOCK
Finelli remains the leader on offense for the River Hawks with 17 points from 10 assists and seven goals on the season, while Taylor Sokol (Hopkinton, Mass.) leads the squad with 10 goals. In total, 10 different players have scored a goal this season, eclipsing last season's mark of nine.

Barrett has been solid between the posts accumulating 31 saves on the year with a .500 save percentage and a 9.05 goals-against average.

SCOUTING SACRED HEART
The Pioneers hold a winless (0-6) record on the season after coming off a 14-7 loss against Fresno State (3.10). Hanna Wise has tallied 12 goals to lead her squad in scoring and points. Alyssa Pearce and Averi Farhat follow Wise with eight points (5g, 3a) and seven points (3g, 4a), respectively. In total, nine different Pioneers have tallied a goal. Paige Hammick has played every minute in net for the Pioneers, accumulating 57 saves, a .401 save percentage, and a 15.18 goals-against average.

SERIES HISTORY
The Mill City squad and Sacred Heart have meet every year since the inception of the River Hawk program, with the Pioneers being victors in the first two meetings. UMass Lowell carries a 4-4 record against member institutions from the Northeast conference all time.

BARRETT REACHES MILESTONE
Goalkeeper Courtney Barrett stopped seven shots in the loss at Iona on Thursday (3.8). Although the squad was unable to come away with their first win of the season, the four-year captain between the posts captured a different win. The South Burlington, Vt. native became the first player in program history to reach at least 500 saves in a career. She sits 90 away from 600, currently, and would need to average 7.5 saves per game over the final 12 contests to reach a new milestone.

MORAN ON THE DRAW
Kelly Moran (Newfields, N.H.) was precise on the draw against Wagner, winning six against the Seahawks, including a stretch of three straight and, later, four-of-five in the second half. The six draw controls tied Taylor Sokol's program mark of six set in 2015 against New Hampshire and is the most since Erin Hatch accounted for five draw controls against Harvard last season.

HAT TRICK PERFORMANCES
Finelli and Caster teamed up against Wagner with each of them scoring a hat trick. It marked the seventh time in program history that two or more River Hawks have scored hat tricks in the same game, with UMass Lowell holding a slight 4-3 edge in those contests.

WILL YOU ACCEPT THIS ROSE?
Freshman Hannah Rose was tabbed the America East Rookie of the Week (3.12) for her efforts in leading the squad to a 1-1 week. Rose led all River Hawk rookies with three caused turnovers, while also picking up three ground balls on the defensive end of the field. The midfielder helped the squad pick up its first win of the season against Wagner on Sunday afternoon after tallying two ground balls and a caused turnover.

FINELLI'S STELLAR START
Kendyl Finelli has tallied 17 points through the first five games of the season. The midfielder now needs just 7 more points to match her output from a season ago. The Southborough, Mass. native is on pace to tally a program record 59 points this season, which would be 25 more than the current program record of 34 held by fellow teammate Jane Dudley after last season breakout year.

SCORING DEPTH
Erin Hatch (Billerica, Mass.) scored her first goal of the season against Wagner to extend the list to 10 different River Hawks that have scored this season, eclipsing last season's mark of nine.

DEFENSE IS THE BEST OFFENSE
Six times in the opener against Boston University, the River Hawks were able to turn caused turnovers or groundballs directly into goals for the Mill City Squad. In total, through the first five games, the River Hawks have scored directly off a caused turnover or ground ball pickup 19 times which is roughly 46-percent of their goals scored.

REACHING DOUBLE DIGITS
The River Hawks have scored at least 10 goals in 11 games since 2015, going 8-3 in those games.
