LOWELL, Mass. –
The UMass Lowell field hockey team welcomes two non-conference opponents to Wicked Blue Field this week, as the squad first hosts America East West Division member No. 12 Stanford on Thursday, September 21 at 3 p.m. before taking on Siena on Sunday, Sept. 24 in a 1 p.m. tilt.

River Hawk Rewind
UMass Lowell is currently in the midst of a three-game skid with a 4-4 record so far in 2017. The team lost their first back-to-back games of the year last week, facing a hard-fought, 3-2 setback against Fairfield at home on Sept. 15, as well as a 2-0 decision at Massachusetts in the team's annual Kennedy Cup game on Sept. 17. Senior Christa Doiron (Worcester, Mass.) registered her first goal this season in the game against the Stags, while sophomore Anouk Lalande (Brussels, Belgium) also notched a tally in that outing.

Through eight games, Anouk Lalande paces the River Hawks with seven goals and 15 points. Junior Torrie Huk (Milford, Del.) follows with five goals for 10 points. Christa Doiron adds a team-best four assists. Sophomore Eva Berkhout (Amersfoort, Utrecht, Netherlands) owns the 4-4 record in the cage, totaling 53 saves for a .757 save percentage.

Scouting Stanford
The No. 12 Cardinal sit at 4-2 so far this season, as the team enters Thursday's contest on a four-game win streak. Stanford played to a closely-contested, 1-0 victory against fellow AE West Division school Pacific in their most recent outing on Sept. 14. Corinne Zanolli is leading the Cardinal with three goals, two assists and eight total points. Marissa Cicione chips in with five points, while five team members are tied with two points each. Goalkeeper Kelsey Bing has started all six games, boasting 46 saves for a .885 save percentage.

Brianna Muniz is pacing the offense with two goals and four points, while Fariyah Omarshah follows closely with one goal and one assist for three points. Goalkeeper Mary Crumlish has made 80 stops so far this year for a .727 save percentage and a 3.82 goals against average.

Series History
The River Hawks and the Cardinal will be meeting for just the second time ever on Thursday after they squared off in the quarterfinals of the 2016 America East Championship. Stanford pulled in front late in that contest to earn a 3-2 decision. UMass Lowell is 2-0 all-time against Siena, including a 9-2 win in Albany last season on Sept. 16.
