OXFORD, Ohio – The UMass Lowell field hockey team wraps up its three-game road swing with a pair of matches at Miami (OH) this week. The squad will first square off against the host Redhawks on Friday, September 1 at 5 p.m. before taking on Ball State in a neutral-site contest on Sunday, Sept. 3 beginning at 12 p.m.

River Hawk Rewind
UMass Lowell owns a 1-1 record so far in 2017 after splitting decisions during its opening weekend of play. The squad kicked off the new season on Aug. 25 with a 3-1 victory at home against Colgate that included a pair of tallies from junior
Torrie Huk (Milford, Del.). On Aug. 27, the River Hawks battled back from a 2-0 deficit at Hofstra thanks to scores from sophomore
Anouk Lalande (Brussels, Belgium), before eventually facing a 3-2 setback.

Through two games,

Scouting Miami (OH)
The Redhawks enter the weekend with a 2-0 record, having opened the new season with a 2-1, overtime win against No. 18 UAlbany on Aug. 26 and a 7-0 victory against Siena on Aug. 27. Lexie Nugent, one of five Redhawks with two goals on the season, is pacing the squad with five total points. Maddi Passarella is boasting a 0.53 goals against average and an .833 save percentage through two games.

The Cardinals also sit at 2-0 so far in 2017, although they will face off against Boston University on Sept. 2 before taking on the River Hawks on Sept. 3. Carley Shannon is leading the team with two goals and one assist for five points, while Grace Chavez has posted five saves in the cage for the squad.

Series History
Friday's contest marks just the second meeting between UMass Lowell and Miami (OH) in the sport of field hockey. Last season, the Redhawks stole a 4-3, double-overtime win in Lowell. On Sunday, the River Hawks and the Ball State Cardinals will square off for the first time ever.
