Making History
Thursday's contest will mark the first home America East playoff game hosted by any UMass Lowell team since making the Division I transition.

River Hawk Rewind
UMass Lowell finished the regular season with a Division I program-best, 9-10 overall record and a 3-5 mark in conference games to clinch the No. 4 seed in the East Division for the tournament. The team picked up an exciting, 4-3 win in double overtime against Vermont on October 29 in the regular-season finale. UVM came from behind in the second half of that contest, forcing a 3-3 stalemate for over 42 minutes. Senior Christa Doiron (Worcester, Mass.) came through with the game-winner in the 95th minute to propel her squad to victory.

Leading the Flock
Through 19 games, sophomore Anouk Lalande (Brussels, Belgium) paces the River Hawks with 13 goals and 29 points. Junior Torrie Huk (Milford, Del.) and freshman Sophie Gehrels (Zeist, Utrecht, Netherlands) follow closely with 16 points apiece. Freshman Clara Defourt (Brussels, Belgium), who adds 14 points, leads the squad with eight assists. Sophomore Eva Berkhout (Amersfoort, Utrecht, Netherlands) owns a 7-10 record in the cage, totaling 133 saves for a .760 save percentage.

Scouting Stanford
Taking the top seed in the West Division for the second consecutive year, the Cardinal are currently ranked 18th in the nation. Stanford finished the regular season with a 10-7 overall record and a 4-2 mark in America East games. The team enters Thursday having won their most recent two outings, including a 4-0 shutout against Cal on Oct. 22 and a 6-2 decision against UC Davis on Oct. 28. AE Rookie of the Year Corinne Zanolli is leading the Cardinal with 12 goals, nine assists and 33 total points. Kristina Bassi and Marissa Cicione chip in 25 and 23 points apiece, respectively. Goalkeeper Kelsey Bing boasts 94 saves for a .790 save percentage and was tabbed AE Goalkeeper of the Year.

Series History
The River Hawks and the Cardinal will be squaring off for just the third time ever on Thursday, as Stanford owns a 2-0 lead in the series. The teams matched up earlier this season on September 21 when Stanford came to Lowell and pulled out a 4-3 win with just over a minute remaining.

Déjà Vu
Thursday's matchup between the River Hawks and the Cardinal will be a rematch of the 2016 America East Quarterfinals. That contest, which marked the first ever meeting between the teams, was tied at 2-2 before No. 1 seeded Stanford scored with less than three minutes left on the clock in regulation.

Around the League
The River Hawks currently lead the America East with 150 saves and sit second with 108 corners so far. Individually, Anouk Lalande is fifth in the league for goals (13) and points (29).

Close Calls
In 2017, seven the team's 10 losses have been by just one goal. Additionally, five of those were tied in the second half and two had to be decided in overtime.

Three Cheers
The River Hawks picked up three consecutive overtime wins for the first time in program history from Sept. 1-8. All of the decisions ended in a 2-1 score, as the team defeated both Miami (Ohio) and Ball State in a single extra period before outlasting Georgetown in a hard-fought outing that went to a sudden-death shootout. The Georgetown match marked the first time the River Hawks have gone to a shootout since 2011.

Over and Over and Over Again
UMass Lowell has now battled its opponents into overtime during seven games in 2017, coming out on top in five of those contests. This marks the most overtime games ever in a season since the program began in 1975.
