BOSTON, Mass. – With a Senior Day win in the books, veteran goalkeeper Kelsey Federico (Windham, N.H.) garnered America East Defensive Player of the Week honors, as announced by the league office on Monday.
 
Federico came on in relief in the regular-season finale against Vermont on October 29 with the score knotted at 3-3. She stopped all three shots she faced in the last nine minutes of regulation, in addition to 20-plus minutes of extra time to help propel UMass Lowell to a thrilling, 4-3 double overtime win.
 
The senior goalkeeper is now 2-0 on the year with a .929 save percentage and a 0.37 goals against average.
 
This marks Federico's first Defensive Player of the Week nod this season and the fourth of her career.
