LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell women's lacrosse team (1-14, 0-5 AE) will wrap up conference play this weekend, with a morning tilt against Binghamton at Wicked Blue Field on Sunday, April 24 at 11 a.m.
 
Sunday's contest will feature the River Hawk's Second Annual Stroke Awareness Game, which will include raffles, a bake sale and a donation table throughout the game, in addition to a special half time speaker.
 
Looking at UMass Lowell
The River Hawks (1-13, 0-4 AE) are looking to snap an 11-game skid as they head into their last stint of America East action. UMass Lowell was recently topped, 18-2, by UAlbany on April 16 in the squad's final road competition of 2016.
 
Leading the Flock
Sophomore attacker Taylor Sokol (Hopkinton, Mass) is pacing the squad with 21 points, in addition to being tied for a team-high 14 goals with freshman midfielder Kristina Keith (Exeter, N.H.). Sokol also sits atop the team leaderboard with 7 assists, while freshman midfielder Kelly Moran (Newfields, N.H.) ranks first with 40 draw controls and a second-best five free positions goals. In net, sophomore goalkeeper Courtney Barrett (South Burlington, Vt.) owns a 13.41 goals against average and a .440 save percentage, while leading the conference in ground balls (66) and the River Hawks in caused turnovers (12).
 
Scouting Binghamton
Binghamton (4-11, 0-4 AE) enters Sunday's contest looking for its first conference win of the season, after being blanked, 16-0, to Stony Brook on April 20. Through 15 games so far this season, Rebecca Golderman leads the team in goals (27), points (30) and draw controls (38). For the Bearcats, Allie Rodgers is notching a team highs in ground balls and caused turnovers, posting 37 and 31, respectively, while Callon Williams is recording a team-best 13 free position goals. Time in net has been split between goalkeepers Erin McNulty (2-8) and Emma Jehle (2-3), who have picked up .451 and .350 save percentages, respectively, during their time between the posts.
 
Atop the America East
Goalkeeper Courtney Barrett is headlining several conference statistic categories, as she ranks first in ground balls (66), ground balls per game (4.40), saves (150) and saves per game (10.00). Barrett also sits fourth with a .440 save percentage, while
Kelly Moran's 2.67 draw controls per game are good enough for fifth in the America East.
 
Honors and Awards
Freshman attacker Noelle Lambert garnered her first America East Rookie of the Week honor on Feb. 29 after netting nine points (5g, 4a) in a two game span for the River Hawks. Freshman midfielder Kristina Keith was tabbed America East Rookie of the Week on March 7, after posting four goals and one assist in the squad's first program win, while tying a program-high five points in a single contest.
