LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell Student-Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) will host its ninth annual "Bowling for IMPACT" event on Sunday, April 3 at Brunswick Zone in Lowell from 3:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m.
Â
"We are really excited for this year's event," said SAAC media officer and women's soccer forward Thalia Petsis (Toronto, Ont.). "This year we are sitting at top in the nation for matches, and we are looking to make it bigger and better than we've ever had. SAAC is working with UMass Lowell Athletics, Merrimack College, Team IMPACT and the community, and have all done a great job to make the event a success. We are really excited to have all our matches at the event and look forward to raising more than we did last year."
Â
Team IMPACT is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children facing life-threatening and chronic illnesses through the power of team. Each team's Team IMPACT child will be in attendance to bowl with their team and have fun while raising money and spreading awareness for the Team IMPACT organization.
Â
Last year, UMass Lowell athletics went on to raise well over $6,000 for Team IMPACT, while the women's soccer team raised the most money of any participating UMass Lowell athletic program.
Â
Donors can make a one-time donation or pledge a certain amount for the frames that an athlete bowls. If you would like to make a contribution to the Team IMPACT cause, please contact Michael Anderson at (978) 934-2153 or at Michael_Anderson@uml.edu.Â
