SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The UMass Lowell Volleyball team fell at Bryant in five sets on Wednesday night at the Chace Athletic Center in non-conference play. The set scores were 12-25, 25-20, 25-22, 11-25 and 8-15.
With the loss, the River Hawks fall to 5-13 overall, while Bryant improves to 11-10 mark on the year.
Sophomore outside hitter
Haley Shimon (Des Moines, Iowa) paced the River Hawks' offense with 14 kills, while freshman
Madi Bell (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) chipped in with 10 kills, 11 digs and five total blocks in the losing effort for UMass Lowell.
Senior middle blocker
Lauren Bennett (Wilmington, Mass.) added seven kills and a team-high .316 hitting percentage to go along with six total blocks. Sophomore libero
Lindsey Visvardis (Homer Glen, Ill.) amassed a team-high 13 digs in another strong defensive effort.
Shimon notched seven kills in set two with an impressive .778 hitting percentage.
The River Hawks recorded 13 kills and a .235 hitting percentage in the second frame to help even the match at 1-1.
UMass Lowell returns to action on Sunday, October 9
