Kayla MacDonald sent out just one college application when she was a student at Chelmsford High School.
Growing up just a few short miles from a university that has developed into a national field hockey power under the direction of one of the most prolific head coaches in the country, MacDonald needed little time to mull over choices.
For this Chelmsford field hockey standout, the only choice was UMass Lowell.
"It was based on the school and field hockey. But this is a really great program that is based on winning," said MacDonald, a junior defender. "Coach loves to win, and I do, too."
