Sophomore forward Antonio Bivins (Miami, Fla.) was named UMass Lowell's Northwestern Mutual Athlete of the Week Tuesday after leading the men's basketball to victories over American International College (74-58) and Southern Connecticut State (89-83) last Tuesday and Saturday.

Last Tuesday evening Bivins came off the bench to score 15 points and also gather six rebounds in 19 minutes in the win over AIC. On Saturday afternoon, Bivins recorded a career-high 26 points and seven rebounds in the victory at Southern Connecticut.

Bivins averaged 20.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game last week. For the season Bivins is averaging 12.6 points per a game and 4.9 rebounds per a game which is third and second respectively on the team. He is fifth in NE-10 shooting 59.8 percent from the floor.

On Monday Bivins was also named the NE-10 Player of the Week.

Bivins is the son of Calvin Bivins of Miami, Fla.
