Soccer Promotions on the Horizon

Sept. 30, 2011

The UMass Lowell men's and women's soccer programs are in full-swing, with both teams coming in the midst of winning streaks. With a slate of home games in the near future, the teams are looking forward to a variety of fun promotions including Southwest Night, Hope Solo Night and a mini-banner giveaway for fans.

On Wednesday, October 5, the men's team battles St. Michael's in a Northeast-10 conference match-up while Moe's Southwest Grill will be dishing out free burritos, chips and salsa in the crowd as part of "Southwest Night". Fans are encouraged to break out their best southwestern outfit and don a sombrero for the game. The game will also feature a halftime Moe's Burrito T-Shirt Toss.

The action continues on Saturday, October 8 as the men's team hosts Kids' Day, presented by Moe's Southwest Grill, while taking on St. Rose. All young fans will receive a commemorative team photo and are welcome to join the team after the game for a post-game autograph session.

The women get into the act on Wednesday, October 12 as UMass Lowell celebrates Hope Solo Night in honor of the United States National team goalie. Solo shined in the 2011 World Cup, helping the U.S. to the Finals against Japan. As part of the festivities, all fans are asked to bring a donation of school supplies for the Lowell House of Hope as part of a collaboration with the M.A.L.E.S. student organization on-campus. A brief pre-game ceremony will be held to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the group. In addition, fans will receive FREE Solo cups, courtesy of Aramark Dining Services. Free root beer will be on tap. Finally, the first 100 fans will receive a UMass Lowell mini-banner.

On Saturday, October 15, the women's team hosts Moe's Kids' Day against St. Anselm. Fans will receive a commemorative team photo which they can get signed after the action at a post-game autograph session.

On Tuesday, October 25, the men's squad will battle Dominican in a hotly-contested non-conference game. The first 100 fans in attendance will receive a free UMass Lowell mini-banner.

More promotions are on the way for all of our Division II sports as well as the Division I hockey program. Keep an eye on www.GoRiverHawks.com for the dates and times!
