The UMass Lowell volleyball team will make its 2011 debut tonight at Queens College. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

The River Hawks were selected to finish seventh in the annual Northeast-10 Preseason Coaches' Poll and return several key figures for the new campaign. Among them, NE-10 All-Rookie libero Carolyn Eddy (Dracut, Mass.) looks to follow up a 437 dig performance in 2010.

Eddy's partner in the passing game is junior setter Kristina Wiltjer (Temecula, Calif.) who ranked eighth in the NE-10 last season with 875 assists. Slated to be the primary recipient of Wiltjer's sets this season is senior Lea Freeman (Methuen, Mass.). The leading returner in kills with 184, Freeman played a large role at the net front with 65 total blocks in 2010.
