Fans who have grown accustomed to the exciting promotions that have become a trademark of River Hawk hockey will love the new slate of activities for UMass Lowell’s fall sports. On Friday, in conjunction with its new All In campaign, the River Hawk marketing department announced a host a promotional dates for the upcoming season which features 35 home games in just 63 days, beginning on Sunday, September 4.
“We’re excited to try something different and look forward to some unique promotions not often seen at the Division II level,” said Scott Donnelly. “Many of our corporate partners wanted to go All In and expand their support of the River Hawks beyond the Tsongas Center and our teams and our fans will be the beneficiaries.”
Those partners include Vic’s Diner, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Suppa’s Pizza & Subs, Wings Over Lowell, Hookslide Kelly’s and Aramark Dining Services and all will be providing gift cards and other marketing support throughout the school year.
The fun kicks off this Sunday, September 4 as the field hockey begins its defense of its 2010 National Championship against Millersville at 3:30PM. The first 50 fans in attendance will receive a free schedule poster and the game will feature a brief unveiling of a new national championship “2010” graphic on the scoreboard.
"We’re going to try to match the continued success of our fall sports teams with a great atmosphere in the stands this year,” Donnelly continued. “We have a host of giveaways and theme-nights on the schedule already and look to add to it as we move forward.”
Admission to all regular season home games for field hockey, men’s soccer, women’s soccer and volleyball is free. Students are encouraged to wear their Blue Fan Group “Rock the Hawk” t-shirts to all home games and can enter to win gift cards and other prizes at the information table at every home game this fall.
All events take place on-campus at the Cushing Field Complex (field hockey, soccer) or Costello Gym (volleyball).

September 17: Men’s Soccer vs. Assumption 3:30PM – Schedule Poster Giveaway • Part of a men’s/women’s doubleheader beginning at 1:00PM (Women’s Soccer vs. Adelphi)
September 20: Field Hockey vs. Stonehill 7:00PM – Pajama Night with FREE Pancake Breakfast courtesy of Vic’s Diner • Fans are encouraged to get comfortable and wear their favorite jammies to the game! Vic’s Dinner will be on hand with a free pancake breakfast for the first 50 fans so get there early before it’s all gone! The game will feature a special halftime edition of the Vic’s Chowdown Challenge and afterwards the River Hawk field hockey team will challenge UML students to a “Longest Drive” contest on the field!
