Riding a four-game winning streak, the River Hawk volleyball squad travels to Springfield, MA to play American International on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
UMass Lowell (4-2) is fresh off of a 3-0 weekend, winning the River Hawk Classic over Franklin Pierce, Merrimack and Post. Junior setter Kristina Wiltjer (Temecula, Calif.) was named the Tournament MVP after averaging 10.02 assists per set, while adding 18 digs and 13 service aces through the weekend.
For the season, Wiltjer ranks first in the Northeast-10 in service aces (0.78) and third in assists (8.74).
Making a strong freshman debut has been Hannah Rey (San Diego, Calif.). The outside-hitter has knocked down 39 total kills, second most on the team, and leads the club with 79 digs. Rey ranks ninth in the NE-10 with 3.59 digs per set.
The Yellow Jackets are led by Ellisha Terry (Fort Worth, Texas), who is sixth in the conference in kills per set (3.09), but also ranks 37th in hitting percentage (.139).
Following tonight's match, UMass Lowell is off until Saturday when it travels ot Southern New Hampshire at 4 p.m.
