The River Hawks hosted a Meet & Greet BBQ followed by a Lowell Spinners' game on Thursday evening. The BBQ, which took place outside the Tsongas Center, gave early-bird season ticket holders a chance to meet the new coaching staff, including head coach Norm Bazin '94.

The weather was perfect and fans were in high spirits as coach Bazin spoke of aspirations to restore UMass Lowell to its proud place among college hockey's elite. While thanking the team's current supporters, Bazin also challenged fans to refer a friend to purchase season tickets.

The event, which was co-hosted by University Advancement, provided a great opportunity in a wonderful setting for fans and supporters to get together in the summer months and enjoy a trip to LeLacheur Park. With over 300 participants, the night was a huge success.

Over at the game, Coach Bazin and his two sons tossed some t-shirts to the crowd during the 1st inning before Norm made his way on to WCAP 980's broadcast of the game as a special guest in a 2nd inning. Rowdy also took center stage, falling in a close battle to Canaligator in a Dance-Off before participating in a Mascot Race around the bases.
