Sophomore Evan White captured the 400 meter dash and was named the Men's Track Athlete of te Year to lead UMass Lowell at the Northeast-10 Conference Track and Field Championship Friday and Saturday at the Cushing Field Complex.
White, who ran the 400 meters in a meet and facility record 46.71 seconds, was one of five individual champions on the day for UMass Lowell as senior Cory Murray captured the shot put (52' 3.5'') and senior Donte Brown the 400 meter hurdles (51.86). UMass Lowell took fourth in the final standings.
On the women's side, junior Ashley Zielinski won the 100 meter hurdles (14.58) while freshman Candace Greene captured the shot put (41' 9.75'') to lead the River Hawks to third place.
