Friday Recap: PRs Abound for Distance Runners | Full Results
Sophomore Evan White (Tewksbury, Mass.) won the 200 meter dash and set a school record to lead UMass Lowell at Princeton's Larry Ellis Invitational Saturday.
White ran the 200 in 21.21 seconds, besting his own previous record of 21.41 set last year.
White also ran a 46.16 leg on UMass Lowell's 4X400 meter relay team which also cruised to first place in 3:11.14. Joining him was sophomore Craig Bennett (Milton, Mass.), who ran a 46.78-second leg; senior Donte Brown (Raynham, Mass.), who ran a 48.34 leg; and junior Jeff Wundt (Southwick, Mass.), who anchored in 49.13.
Freshman Keith Lewis (Nashua, N.H.) also hit an NCAA provisional mark in the 400 meter hurdles, placing eighth in 53.70.
Highlighting the women's effort was the 4X100 meter relay, which placed seventh overall and tops among Division II-III foursomes in 48.94. Leading the way was sophomore Shannon Cunningham (Foxboro, Mass.), and juniors Amy Delgado (Bridgewater, Mass.), Nicole Giaquinto (Winthrop, Mass.) and Ashley Zielinski (Manchester, N.H.).
Several River Hawks will compete at the Penn Relays next Thursday through Saturday while the remainder of the rosters enter the Stonehill Skyhawk Invitational Friday.
