River Hawk Athletics, Student Activities and Leadership, and the Music department are working side-by-side to create the first-ever spirit song for UMass Lowell.

All members of the University community were encouraged to participate in a competition to develop a song which will serve as a rallying cry for years to come. We have four finalists, all submitted by alumni or University staff, and invite fans to vote for their favorite via our online poll on GoRiverHawks.com until 5 p.m. on Friday, April 29.

The winning entry will be chosen by a selection committee including representatives from the athletic, music and student activities departments. The committee will take into account the online fan vote as this will inevitably become your song. Entries will be judged on originality and creativity while taking into consideration the goal of inspiring pride throughout the University community.

The pep band will then adapt whichever song is chosen and to its style of play to make the winning entry an appropriate fight song to be used at athletic and school-related events as well as in a variety of online and promotional purposes.
