Three River Hawks were recognized by the Northeast-10 Conference this week, led by softball's Elyssa Boris (Gardner, Mass.) who collected Player and Pitcher of the Week honors. Men's basketball's Antonio Bivins (Miami, Fla.), and Mike Calzetta (Lawrence, Mass.) from baseball were both tabbed as Rookie of the Week for their respective sports.

Boris batted .438, going 7-16 during the six-game stretch, tallying six RBI and three runs over the weekend. She made appearances in all six contests and blasted a three-run homer in a 6-1 win over Eckerd on Feb. 26.

The River Hawks opened the season 3-3 at the Tritn Spring Invitational hosted by Eckerd College and will return to action on March 13, beginning a 12-game trip to the Sunshine State.

Bivins came off the bench to average 22.0 PPG on the week, while the River Hawks went 2-0. They closed the regular season with a 79-63 win over Franklin Pierce and ousted Merrimack from the NE-10 Tournament First Round, 75-66, on Saturday.

The freshman forward went 18-24 from the floor (.750) during the two-game stretch, averaging 4.5 RPG and 3.0 SPG.

Bivins and the River Hawks (19-8) will continue to defend their Conference Tournament crown tonight against Stonehill in Easton, Mass. at 7 p.m.

Calzetta received the nod after collecting a 3-2 win in his collegiate debut against St. Thomas Aquinas in Flemington, NJ. The right hander scattered three hits, two strikeouts, one earned run and no walks over five innings pitched. It's the first honor this season for both Calzetta and the team.

The freshman hurler will get a chance to defend his title next weekend as the River Hawk baseball team (2-1) heads back to Flemington for a pair of double-headers against Caldwell College on Saturday and Sunday.
