Senior sprinter Ashley Zielinski (Manchester, N.H.) was named UMass Lowell's Northwestern Mutual Athlete of the Week Tuesday after leading the women's track and field team to a second place finish at the Reggie Poyau Invitational at Brandeis University on Saturday afternoon.

Also named the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week, Zielinski won both the 55 and 200 meter dashes and finished second in the 55 meter hurdles for a total of 28 points.

Zielinski won the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.35 seconds and went on to win the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.45 seconds.

In the 55 meter hurdles Zielinski placed second with a time of 8.66 seconds. Zielinski contributed 28 of the 111 points UMass Lowell earned to finish in second place behind Stonehill.

Zielinski is the daughter of Donna and Ed Zielinski of Manchester, N.H.
