The UMass Lowell women's and men's basketball teams look to snap out of slumps tonight as they travel to Stonehill for a pair of Northeast-10 Conference basketball games at the Merkert Gymnasium.
The River Hawk women (1-4, 0-3 NE-10) are fresh off a 58-40 loss at home to Southern New Hampshire, its fourth straight setback since openein ght eyear with a 71-65 win over Felician.
UMass Lowell meets a Stonehill squad (4-2, 1-2 NE-10) which suffered an 81-67 loss at Franklin Pierce last week, but rebounded Sunday with an 81-70 win over Merrimack.
On the men's side, UMass Lowell suffered two losses last week - 69-59 at Saint Michael's and 80-68 at home to Southern New Hampshire - following a 4-0 start.
Stonehill, meanwhile, is off to a 3-1 start, defeating Merrimack Sunday in overtime (73-64) following a 57-47 loss at Franklin Pierce earlier in the week.
UMass Lowell hosts Merrimack Saturday in the 2011 Hoop Slam at the Tsongas Center (women's game at 2:00, men's at 4:00). Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for senior citizens and children 12 and under. Groups consisting of 10 or more people will be charged $3 while UMass Lowell students will be admitted free. All tickets are general admission.
