The UMass Lowell men's and women's basketball teams travel to Bentley College tonight for a Northeast-10 Conference twin bill at the Dana Center.
The UMass Lowell women (1-1), fresh off a weekend split, face the Falcons (2-0) at 5:30 while the River Hawk men (2-0), late of two victories at the University of Bridgeport Classic, take the floor at 7:30.
Both Bentley, ranked No. 2 in the latest WBCA Division II Poll, and UMass Lowell got a good look at one another last weekend in the Northeast-10/Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball Challenge at the Costello Athletic Center. Bentley went 2-0 with wins over No. 18 Holy Family (82-57) and Felician (76-42) while UMass Lowell defeated Felician (71-65) before falling to Holy Family (87-62).
Following tonight's clash, the UMass Lowell women have a six-day hiatus before traveling to Saint Michael's next Tuesday (5:30).
The UMass Lowell men (2-0), who defeated the host Purple Knights (108-105) and Post University (60-50) at the UB Classic, face a Bentley squad which has won three of the last four NE-10 regular season titles - including last year's.
The River Hawks, 20-10 last season with 13 veterans and all five starters back, were selected No. 1 in the NE-10 Preseason Coaches Poll while Bentley was tabbed No. 2.
Bentley is also 2-0 with victories last weekend over Felician (100-62) and defending NCAA Tournament East Region champion Bloomfield (83-74) in its own Tipoff Classic.
The UMass Lowell men open at home Saturday against Philadelphia University (currently 1-1; 15-2 overall, 10-7 in the CACC last year) at 1:00.
