Final Stats

Senior MH Patawe Simms compiled 11 kills and hit .435 to lead Adelphi University over UMass Lowell, 3-0 (25-12, 25-22, 25-17) Friday night in a Northeast-10 Conference volleyball clash in Garden City, N.Y.

Game scores were 25-12, 25-22 and 25-17.

With the loss, UMass Lowell slipped to 9-6 overall and 5-3 in the NE-10 entering Saturday's match at Pace (1:00). Adelphi improved to 12-5 overall and 5-1 in the Conference.

In the second set, UMass Lowell battled back from a 19-14 deficit to cut the lead to 24-22, but was unable to muster any closer. The River Hawks led the third set 14-13, but the Panthers outscored them 12-3 to seal the match.

Senior MH Lea Freeman (Methuen, Mass.) led the River Hawks with six kills while junior setter Kristina Wiltjer (Temecula, Ca.) added five kills, eight digs and 17 assists.

Freshman OH Hannah Rey (San Diego, Ca.) and freshman Ella Merrill (Bermuda Dunes, Ca.) each chipped in four kills. Rey led the defense with 16 digs.

Junior OH Chelsea Overholt chipped in eight kills and 13 digs while senior libero Bianca Hernandez compiled 19 digs.
