The UMass Lowell women's and men's basketball teams travel to Le Moyne College tonight for a pair of Northeast-10 Conference games at Ted Grant Court.
Both teams are fresh off losses at American International College Saturday, the women 66-62 despite outscoring AIC 24-7 to end the game; and the men 57-41.
The River Hawk women (6-9 overall, 5-6 in the NE-10) have won two of their last three (AIC the sole blemish), wins over Adelphi (83-58) and at New Haven (92-56). Sophomore Bianca Simmons, who has averaged 25.6 points and 5.3 assists in her last three games, has been the catalyst alongside junior Sha'nay Bushner, who has registered 13.0 points and 11.0 rebounds in her last two games.
They meet a Le Moyne squad (5-10, 2-9 NE-10) which bounced back from consecutive losses with an 84-78 home win over Southern New Hampshire Saturday. Previously, the Dolphins suffered losses at Merrimack (68-61) and at home to Saint Michael's (54-49).
The UMass Lowell men (10-5, 6-5 NE-10) aim to rebound from Saturday's loss at AIC, which followed two straight wins over Adelphi (60-55) and New Haven (68-51). The River Hawks are led by freshman Akeem Williams (17.3 ppg) and sophomore Matt Welch (12.7 ppg).
Similarly, Le Moyne (6-9, 4-7 NE-10) enters the game off a 62-58 home loss to Southern New Hampshire, which came after wins at Merrimack (67-54) and at home (53-52) over Saint Michael's.
UMass Lowell returns home Saturday to host the College of Saint Rose (2:00/4:00).
