Woes Continue for River Hawks in 4-0 Loss at Stonehill

Stonehill College scored a pair of goals in either half en route to a 4-0 victory over UMass Lowell Wednesday afternoon in a Northeast-10 Conference men’s soccer clash at Skyhawk Field.

With the loss, UMass Lowell slipped to 1-6-1 overall and 0-4-1 in the NE-10 entering Saturday’s home match against Saint Anselm (1:00). Stonehill improved to 4-3-1 overall and 2-3-1 in the Conference.

Junior F Michael White scored two goals and set up another while sophomore Anthony Campagnano added one goal and one assist. Junior Ross McWilliams set up two goals while senior Michael Bridges added one goal.

Stonehill took a 2-0 lead into the half on goals by Campagnano in the 10th minute and White in the 20th, both set up by McWilliams. The Skyhawks added two more 1:09 apart early in the second half, the first by White in the 50th minute and Bridges’ goal in the 51st.

Stonehill outshot the River Hawks 15-12 overall but shots on frame were even at 7-7. Freshman Connor Askins (Boston, Mass.) stopped three shots while senior Brandon McFarlane had seven saves.
