The UMass Lowell women's and men's basketball teams, well-rested following 19 and 12 days off, return to action tonight in a twin bill at the Costello Athletic Center. The River Hawk women host Caldwell College of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference at 5:00 while the men host East Coast Conference contender University of Bridgeport (7:00).

UMass Lowell is 2-0 against Caldwell all-time, having won last season's clash, 54-48, on Nov. 21 behind 16 points and seven rebounds from Bianca Simmons. The River Hawks enter the clash winner in four of their last six games, including a 66-60 win over Merrimack Dec. 11 at the Tsongas Center, its last action.

After a 1-2 start, Caldwell has won four of its last five games, including wins over Dominican (62-54) and East Stroudsburg (83-53).

On the men's side, UMass Lowell has won three straight games, the latest a 95-68 victory at home over CACC member Concordia on Dec. 18. The River Hawk men are 5-1 at home this season and 3-0 outside of the Northeast-10 Conference.

Bridgeport enters the game idle since Dec. 12 and on the losing end of its last two games: a 79-74 loss at New York Institute of Technology and a 66-61 overtime loss at home to Bentley. The Purple Knights are 3-1 in the ECC but 0-3 against NE-10 foes this season.

UMass Lowell resumes its NE-10 slate Sunday at the Costello Athletic Center against Stonehill (2:00/4:00).
