UMass Lowell hockey looks to end its six-game losing streak when it heads to Massachusetts on Saturday afternoon for a 1:30 p.m. start. The River Hawks (2-11-2, 2-9-0 Hockey East) can pass the Minutemen (2-6-3, 1-3-3 HE) in the conference standings with a victory.

UMass Lowell leads the all-time series with its sister school, 31-21-6, and have been especially good when playing at Massachusetts' home site (17-9-4).

Last season the Minutemen took two out of three games from UMass Lowell. In the lone River Hawk victory on Dec. 5, David Vallorani (Hamilton, Ont.) registered his first career hat trick.

Even though UMass Lowell is coming off of a loss in its last visit to the Mullins Center, the River Hawks haven't lost consecutive regular season road games to Massachusetts since Nov. 25, 1970.

Sophomore forward Riley Wetmore (Swanton, Vt.) continues to lead the way for UMass Lowell with a team-best 12 points on six goals and six assists. He is trailed by freshman Chad Ruhwedel (San Diego, Calif.) with two goals and eight points.

Rookie goaltender Doug Carr (Hanover, Mass.) has played well in net, holding a 3.33 goals against average and a .902 save percentage. Carr has recorded 30 or more saves in 10 starts.

The River Hawks are coming off of a 3-0 loss to New Hampshire on Friday night, failing to score a goal for the first time this season.

Follow Saturday's contest, UMass Lowell has just two more games before the holiday break. The River Hawks will travel to Princeton for a pair of contests with the Tigers on Dec. 10-11.
