Senior MH Sarah Coscia (Pittsfield, Mass.) compiled 18 kills and three blocks as UMass Lowell defeated Le Moyne College, 3-1, Sunday afternoon in a Northeast-10 Conference volleyball clash at Ted Grant Court.

 

With the win, UMass Lowell improved to 8-6 overall and 3-1 in the NE-10 entering Wednesday night’s home clash against Stonehill (7:00). Le Moyne slipped to 9-7 overall and 2-3 in the NE-10.

Game scores were 25-22, 22-25, 25-23 and 25-20. The victory put the River Hawks in sole possession of fourth place.

Freshman OH Brooke Peterson (De Mar, Calif.) added 12 kills and 14 digs while senior OH Vicky Wong (Tewksbury, Mass.) chipped in 14 kills, five digs and three blocks. Freshman libero Carolyn Eddy (Dracut, Mass.) led the defense with a team-high 17 digs while junior MH Lea Freeman (Methuen, Mass.) added nine kills and five blocks.

Sophomore setter Kristina Wiltjer (San Diego, Calif.) dished out 51 assists and served five aces.

Sophomore OH Bethany Fabian led Le Moyne with 12 kills and 15 digs while sophomore MH Morgan McDermott added 11 kills and seven blocks. Senior libero Andrea Sterling had a match-high 19 digs.
