The River Hawks will host the Southern New Hampshire Penmen on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. Both teams are jockeying for Northeast-10 playoff position with seven regular season games remaining.
UMass Lowell is fresh off of a three set sweep of Saint Anselm on Wednesday. Senior Sarah Coscia (Pittsfield, Mass.) slammed home a team-high 13 kills and six blocks. She was joined by senior Jillian Hadder (Yucaipa, Calif.) with 12 kills and eight digs.
Setting up the attack was Kristina Wiltjer (San Diego, Calif.) who dished out 28 assists and six digs.
For the season, Coscia leads the way with 283 kills and ranks second in the NE-10 with 3.75 kills per game. In addition, Coscia ranks first in points (4.60), fifth in hitting percentage (.309) and eighth in blocks (0.79).
Hadder continues her strong campaign with 166 kills and 123 digs. The outside-hitter is also tied with Vicky Wong (Tewksbury, Mass.) for the team-lead with 25 service aces.
Wiltjer has been stellar in her first season at setter, totalling 643 assists and 189 digs. She has recorded 10 double-doubles this year.
The Penmen are led by Stephanie Dluginski who has 188 kills and 39 blocks. Dluginski ranks third in the NE-10 in kills per game (3.62).
Following today's match, UMass Lowell will host St. Michael's in the Costello Gym on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
