Sammy Macy, a junior from Tewksbury, MA (Tewksbury Memorial H.S.) was named the Lowell Five Cent Savings Bank Athlete of the Week Wednesday after compiling three of the UMass Lowell field hockey team's five goals in a 2-0 week.

Macy opened the week with one goal in the River Hawks' 3-0 victory over Millersville Friday, and followed with both goals in a 2-0 triumph over No. 3 Indiana (PA) University.

UMass Lowell is currently ranked No. 2 in the latest National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II Poll, and meet No. 9 Mansfield Saturday at the University of Scranton.

A criminal justice major, Macy is the daughter of Doug and Mary Macy of Tewksbury, MA.
