Box Score

Sophomore M Maddy Bissaillon (Merrimac, MA) scored the lone goal in the 105th minute to lead UMass Lowell over Assumption, 1-0, in double overtime Wednesday afternoon at the Multi-Sports Center.

The victory was the fourth straight for the River Hawks, who improved to 5-2 overall and 5-1 in the NE-10 entering Wednesday’s clash at Southern New Hampshire (7:00).

It also marked the third consecutive shutout for the River Hawks, who go into Wednesday night’s clash at Southern New Hampshire with a streak of 362 shutout minutes (the school record is 399).

Assumption slipped to 2-4 overall and 2-3 in the Conference.

Bissaillon scored the winner when freshman F Taylor Hartmann (Feeding Hills, MA) launched a corner kick into the box, which was touched by freshman M Jenna Costa (Attleboro, MA) to Bissaillon, who slotted past Greyhound goalkeeper Lauren Keating.

UMass Lowell outshot Assumption 17-7 overall and 10-4 on target. Senior G Jamie Gillis (North Billerica, MA) stopped all four shots en route to her 27th career shutout (a perpetual school record).

Keating, who had nine saves, did well on several occasions to deny the River Hawks, including a 60th minute free kick by Bissaillon heading into the top 90, which Keating touched over the bar.
