The UMass Lowell River Hawks softball team will hold walk-on tryouts on Friday, Sept. 4 at 5:30 p.m. on River View Field, as announced by head coach Sean Cotter Tuesday.

River View Field is located on UMass Lowell’s South Campus, just past the Admissions building. For more detailed information, go to the “Directions” tab on GoRiverHawks.com.

Participants are required to bring their own glove, cleats and workout gear.  UMass Lowell will provide the rest of the equipment.

Prospective student-athletes must have had a physical in the last six months and need to file it with the Athletic Health Care Office. Proof of insurance is also required to participate in tryouts. With any questions regarding the required forms, stop into the Athletic Health Care office on the second floor of Costello Gym or call (978) 934-2321.

The River Hawks are coming off a 10-31-1 record (9-18-1 NE-10), but return all but one student-athlete and are now under the guidance of Cotter, who comes to Lowell after a 10-year stint as the head coach at Plattsburgh State.
