LOWELL, Mass. - Pat Devlin (Tewksbury, Mass.) had two hits and scored three runs as UMass Lowell defeated Pace, 5-2, Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 baseball action at LeLacheur Park.
The River Hawks have won three of four and improve to 23-14 overall and 14-10 in the NE-10. The Setters have lost three straight. They fall to 17-25-1 overall and 11-15 in conference play.
Devlin, who was 3-for-3 with a walk, had a hand in three of UML's five runs. He doubled and scored in the first, walked and scored in the second and singled and scored in the third.
He picked up an RBI with a single in the sixth.
Jared Notargiacomo (Newburyport, Mass.) singled and scored in the second. Notargicacomo was 4-for-4 on the day.
Pace scored its runs in the fourth and eighth innings. Tyler Hart (Poughquag, N.Y.) plated the first Setter run with an RBI double in the fourth. Andre Liscinsky (Trumbull, Conn.) knocked in the second run with a double down the left field line in the eighth.
Jack Leathersich (Beverly, Mass.) worked a complete game, earning his sixth win of the year (6-2). He struck out six and walked two. Leathersich allowed two runs on seven hits over the nine innings of work.
Giuseppe Granitto (Bronx, N.Y.) took the loss for Pace. He allowed four runs on seven hits over 4.2 innings. He walked two and did not have a strikeout.
The River Hawks and Setters conclude their weekend series Sunday afternoon at Pace. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
