Michael Sokolove, author of Warrior Girls: Protecting Our Daughters Against the Injury Epidemic in Women's Sports, will speak at UMass Lowell on Monday night (7:00) in the O'Leary Auditorium, Room 222, on South Campus.
Sokolove will discuss his book in depth and will also take part in a panel discussion with orthopedic surgeons Dr. Lawrence Johnson and Dr. Samuel Gerber and UMass Lowell Athletic Trainer Artie Poitras.
Admission to the presentation is free.
Sokolove is a contributing writer for The New York Times Magazine and the author of several books, including Hustle: The Myth, Life and Lies of Pete Rose and The Ticket Out: Darryl Strawberry and the Boys of Crenshaw.
The production is a part of UMass Lowell's Politics and Sports Speaker Series and sponsored by Lowell General Hospital. It is presented by Jeff Gerson, Associate Professor of Political Science at UMass Lowell.
