LOWELL, Mass. (Apr. 2, 2009) – Sophomore defenseman Maury Edwards (Rocky Rapids, Alta.) was named to the 2008-09 New England Men’s Division I All-Star team. The announcement was made Thursday morning.
The award is just the latest of many post season honors Edwards has received. He was also named a Hockey East First Team All-Star and to the Hockey East All-Tournament team.
Edwards finished second on the River Hawks and was third among Hockey East defensemen with 29 points. He was third on the team in goals (11), tied for second in assists (18) and tied for third in plus/minus (+11).
Edwards also led the squad in power play points (15) and tied for the team-lead with seven power play goals. He was third on the River Hawks with six multi-point games in 2008-09.
