UMass Lowell volleyball battled to a five set loss at Stonehill College on Wednesday, snapping a three-game winning streak. The River Hawks stormed through the first two sets, but stumbled in the third and were unable to recover. UMass Lowell was led by junior Jillian Hadder (Yucaipa, CA) who reached a double-double with 13 kills and 14 digs, while also adding two blocks.

The match scores were 25-15, 25-16, 14-25, 21-25 and 9-15.

The loss drops the River Hawks to 11-7 on the season and 6-2 in the Northeast-10. The Skyhawks jump to 9-5 overall with the win and 4-1 in conference play.

Hadder was joined offensively by junior Sarah Coscia (Pittsfield, MA) who hit a team-high 21 kills with a .463 attack percentage, the third time she topped the 20 kills mark this season. Senior Elsa LeGrand (Highlands Ranch, CO) finished with 14 kills, seven digs and four blocks. Junior Vicky Wong (Tewksbury, MA) continued her torrid pace, striking 11 kills and 13 digs.

Conducting the offensive concert was senior setter Nichole Rondeau (Dracut, MA). Her 47 assists, 12 digs and two aces kept the River Hawk offense explosive throughout. Rondeau's assist total was her second highest of the season and just the forth time she had dished out 40 or more in 2009.
