UMass Lowell Blank in 5-0 Loss to Bentley

Bentley University scored three goals in the first half and never looked back in a 5-0 rout of UMass Lowell Tuesday afternoon in a Northeast-10 Conference men's soccer clash in Waltham, MA.

The loss was the fifth straight for the River Hawks who slipped to 3-7 overall and 2-6 in the NE-10 entering Saturday's match at No. 18 Le Moyne (2:00).

UMass Lowell outshot the Falcons 14-11 overall, but Bentley had an 8-5 edge on target.

Sophomore G Matt Lavery (Nashua, NH), filling in for the injured Ryan Richards (Holden, MA), had five saves in his first collegiate start. Senior G Michael Nikiforov had four saves in 80 minutes while sophomore Matt Reynolds stopped one shots in 10 minutes for Bentley.

Sophomore M Eric Heuze scored three goals, including two in the first half while freshman D Weston Zeiner added two. Senior M Harris Smirko set up both of Zeiner's goals.
