Oct. 31, 2009

Box Score

UMass Lowell volleyball rebounded from Friday's loss to defeat conference foe Pace University in four sets on Saturday. The River Hawks were led by junior Sarah Coscia (Pittsfield, MA) who had 14 kills and two blocks.

The match scores were 23-25, 25-14, 25-22 and 25-16.

The win boosts UMass Lowell to 17-9 overall and 9-4 in the Northeast-10. The Setters slide 16-9 on the season and 8-5 in conference play.

In addition to Coscia's offense, UMass Lowell received big games from seniors Allie Eide (Gresham, OR) and Elsa LeGrand (Highlands Ranch, CO). Eide dug a team-high 24 balls, marking the sixth time this season she has topped the 20-dig plateau. LeGrand put in an all-around great performance with eight kills, six total blocks and four digs. LeGrand tied her season-high in blocks and now has 384 for her career, just 30 shy of the UMass Lowell record.

Nichole Rondeau (Dracut, MA) orchestrated the River Hawk attack, collecting 27 assists and six digs in the win.

UMass Lowell has only two regular season contests remaining. First they will travel to Southern New Hampshire on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. start before returning home for Senior's Night against Assumption on Friday, also at 7 p.m.
