Sophomore F Robbie Sabadoz scored in the 13th and 88th minutes to lead Merrimack College over UMass Lowell, 2-0, Wednesday night in the Northeast-10 Conference men’s soccer season finale in North Andover.
With the loss, UMass Lowell caps the season with a 4-12-0 record (3-10-0 in the NE-10).
Merrimack (11-6-1, 9-4-0 NE-10) earned the No. 5 seed for the NE-10 Tournament Quarterfinal where it will visit No. 4 Southern Connecticut Sunday at 1:00.
The Warriors outshot UMass Lowell, 20-12 overall and 10-3 on target as senior G Ryan Richards (Holden, MA) stopped eight shots. Senior G Doug Carvalho had three saves for Merrimack.
Sabadoz opened the scoring when he took a pass from sophomore M Jimmy Goncalves and launched a blast from the top of the box. He completed the brace in the 88th when he received a through-ball from sophomore M Evan Burokas and sidestepped Richards to slot home.
