NORTH ANDOVER (Oct. 15, 2008) – Sophomore MB Molly Cindric compiled 22 kills as Merrimack defeated UMass Lowell, 3-2 Wednesday night in a Northeast-10 Conference volleyball clash at the Volpe Complex. With the loss, UMass Lowell slipped to 7-13 overall and 2-5 in the NE-10 entering Friday night’s match at Saint Rose (7:00) and Saturday’s clash at Le Moyne (12:00). Merrimack improved to 11-7 overall and 6-0 in the NE-10. Sophomore Sarah Coscia (Pittsfield, MA) led the River Hawks with 18 kills while sophomore OH Jillian Hadder (Yucaipa, CA) added 13 kills and two solo blocks. Junior OH Elsa LeGrand (Highlands Ranch, CO) chipped in 12 kills, 17 digs and four blocks. Junior S Nichole Rondeau (Dracut, MA) dished out 40 assists and also had 14 digs while junior DS Allie Eide (Gresham, OR) led the defense with a season-high 26 digs. Senior MB Ale Kuncaitis compiled 16 kills and 12 digs for Merrimack while junior OH Lisa Barr also had 16 kills.
