No. 4 UMass Lowell Tops No. 8 Stonehill, 2-1, in Overtime

EASTON, MA - Jaci Moulton (Baldwinville, MA) scored the game-winning goal as No. 4 UMass Lowell defeated No. 8 Stonehill, 2-1, in overtime in Northeast-10 field hockey action Tuesday night.

The River Hawks have won 10 straight and improve to 10-2 overall and 10-0 in the NE-10. The Skyhawks had their six-game win streak snapped with the loss and fall to 6-5 overall and 6-4 in the NE-10.

Moulton netted the game-winner at 82:46 with an assist from Sammy Macy. The strike was Moulton's 10th of the year and sixth straight game with a goal. The assist extended Macy's point streak to 10 games.

Seniors Missy Seeley (East Hampstead, NH) and Michelle Harrington (Rockport, MA) combined to get the River Hawks on the board just three and a half minutes into the match. Seeley got the goal at 3:32, her third of the year, with an assist from Harrington.

Harrington has a 10-game assist/point streak and leads UML with 11 assists on the season. Seeley has points in four straight.

The Skyhawks were held off the board until the 70th minute of play when Claire Hourihan (East Amherst, NY) notched her 10th goal of the season. Jackie Ladino (North Dartmouth, MA) assisted on the tally.

The River Hawks out-shot the Skyhawks 23-14 for the match. Stonehill held the advantage in penalty corners, 14-8.

Amy Carbon (Bellingham, MA) started in goal for the sixth straight game for UML and improved to 6-0 with the win. Carbon made a season-high eight saves on the night.

Courtney Osier (South Dennis, MA) stopped eight shots for Stonehill, but took the loss.

The River Hawks return to the field Thursday when they host American International (7:00 p.m.). The Skyhawks are next in action Saturday when they host Saint Michael's.
