LOWELL, MA - Sophomore MH Sarah Coscia (Pittsfield, MA) registered 11 kills and 11 digs as UMass Lowell defeated American International College, 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-17) Saturday in the Northeast-10 Conference regular season finale at the Costello Athletic Center.
With the win, the River Hawks improved to 15-16 overall and 7-7 in the Conference and await NE-10 Tournament pairings. The Tournament is slated for Friday and Saturday at Pace University.
AIC slipped to 12-12 overall and 8-6 in the Conference and also awaits NE-10 Tournament pairings.
Coscia also added five blocks and had plenty of help from junior OH Elsa LeGrand (Highlands Ranch, CO), who chipped in 10 kills, seven digs and two blocks. Sophomore MH Kaitlynne Akroyd (Methuen, MA) had five kills and six blocks.
Junior S Nichole Rondeau (Dracut, MA) dished out 24 assists.
Freshman OH Ellisha Terry (Fort Worth, TX) led the Yellow Jackets with 11 kills and 11 digs while sophomore OH Kambryn Williams (Pomona, CA) added nine kills and 10 digs. Freshman S Kervelle redhead (St. James, Trinidad) dealt 31 assists.
