The River Hawks varsity four is led by junior coxswain Rachel Paquette (Dracut, Mass.) included seniors Melinda Neale (Plaistow, N. H.) and Kim Haskins (Taunton, Mass.) and sophomores Jenna Bueno (Methuen, Mass.) and Rachel Piela (Amherst, Mass.) were all named UMass Lowell's Northwestern Mutual Athletes of the Week Thursday after leading the rowing team to its best finish of the season on Sunday in the New Hampshire Championships in Pembroke, NH.
The varsity four traveled the five-thousand meter course in a time of 19-minutes and 17.96-seconds. The time was first among college teams, and finished ahead of Merrimack, who finished second among college teams with a time of 19:38.53.
This weekend they will compete in the Head of the Charles in Cambridge, Mass.
